AS EXPECTED, METS 1-0
WRIGHT AND SANTANA GIVE METS SWEET OPENING DAY WIN
The two stars of the franchise came through this afternoon as baseball opened in the Big Apple. Johan Santana, known for opening day heroics, pitched a solid 8 innings before giving K-Rod the ball to close the door on the Fish. The Marlins fell to the Amazin's 7-1 at Shea. David Wright homered to give the Mets a first inning 2-0 lead they would never give up. Jason Bay tripled and scored in his dynamic Mets debut.
