MY PREDICTION: METS AND MARLINS HAVE GOOD WEEK
When you are no-hit, it is a big blow to your team's confidence. In fact, 84% of teams go on to lose the next two games after they the no-hitter. So, while it is clear the Atlanta Braves domination at the hands of Colorado ace Ubaldo Jimenez will cause a team expected to finish well above .500 some problems, it is perhaps the Philadelphia Phillies whose confidence is most hurt after losing two in a row and dropping a series to the Florida Marlins. Meanwhile, the Mets, who won a game in 20 innings and saw major signs of talent in Mike Pelfrey, Johan Santana and John Maine this weekend in St. Louis, and the Marlins, who find themselves just a half game out of first place, are the teams of confidence as they get set to face the depleted, Soriano-struggling Cubs and worst team in the majors, Houston Astros. I predict with confidence that the Mets and Marlins will win the next series they enter upon tonight. For a more extreme prediction- Ollie will dominate the Cubs.
