WRIGHT STEALING THE SHOW
David Wright, along with Alex Rodriguez and Joba Chamberlin, was voted on by ESPN Magazinge readers as one of the most over-rated players in baseball. So, the anti-Big-City they-get-too-much-press bullshit has hit the fan. We all know the Mets and Yankees are largely hated outside of New York, despite having big fan bases in Florida, Pennsylvania, Maine and California. The Yankees are the evil empire, yes, but weather its from the Philly rivalry, the Florida rivalry, the Atlanta rivalry or the St. Louis rivalry left over from 2006, the Mets are the most hated team in the National League. This makes David Wright the most hated player in the National League. David Wright is on pace to steal 59 bases this season… his previous high was only 34. Many would suggest this is a result of early-season walks, as Wright currently leads all of baseball in bases on balls. But, who is to say this won't continue? And who is to say he won't hit more singles and have more hit-induced opportunities to steal bases? Although most sane fans predict the stolen bases will go down, I'm not a sane fan. I predict he will steal 64 bases. Why? He's faster than ever and focused heavily during spring training on getting a better jump, reading the body language of the pitcher and increasing his lead off first. Just watch, David's stealing is not going nowhere.

  1. haters will hate, but DWright IS new york. David Wright is the best of the NL aside from Puljos and Hanley Ramirez.
